Step 1 Pick a site!

  • Needs to work best for you
  • Readable and easy to navigate
  • Easy to use
  • Insert images, text, headings, etc.
  • FREE
  • Claim your space online

Step 2: Highlight your experiences

  • Share your experiences
  • Volunteer work
  • Work with kids!
  • Make space to highlight field experience
  • Student teaching
  • Ask the supervisor and mentor teachers if you can take pictures and put them on your website.

Step 3: Show real work with pictures

  • Show samples that you created
  • Student work
  • Best lessons and unit plans for employers to see
  • Have a whole tab for your unit! You are able to demonstrate your understanding of scope and sequence.
  • Digital content that you created (graphics, websites, etc) show it!
  • Your brain is designed to process images quickly! Use images to showcase content.
  • Get permission first to take pictures and use them!
  • Get pictures with kids! (With permission!)

Quick tips:

  • Link all the things!
  • If you are talking about a lesson plan link to it or embed it
  • Show interest, personality, hobbies, volunteer work, etc.
  • Social media share what you are learning
